Online therapy is an easy and convenient option for therapy services. You can receive the same high-quality care but from the comfort of your own home. I offer online sessions using video conferencing technology so we can see and hear each other in real time, even when miles apart.
What are the technology requirements for online therapy services?
• Mac/PC/Chromebook/Android or Apple smartphone with camera, microphone, and speakers
• Google Chrome, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox (latest updated version)
• Reliable Internet connection with at least 750 kb/s or .75 mbps download and upload speeds for video sessions Click here for a free speed test
• A private personal email address
Is online therapy effective?
Yes, many studies have been done on online therapy and show that it can be highly effective and is comparable to traditional therapy options.
Will the video conferencing technology be easy to set up?
Yes, the video conferencing program I have chosen is very easy to set up. Once you have set your appointment time, I will send you a link to enter the video session waiting room. After you click the link, you will be asked to sign in with your name and allow the rights to use your webcam and microphone. After signing in, you will enter the electronic waiting room, where the video conferencing will start at the scheduled appointment time.
Will my information be secure?
Yes, I have chosen only to work with providers who are HIPAA compliant, so any information you share, from personal emails to video sessions, will be safe and secure. A full list of providers is included in the Informed Consent Form.
Who is not eligible for online sessions?
At this point, I am not accepting clients from outside of the state of GA.
Laws for virtual health care are rapidly changing, but for now, the therapist must be licensed in the state where the client currently is at the time of the session. Therefore, being I am only licensed to practice in the state of GA, I will only be accepting clients who are currently located in GA.
